Program >> iTunes XHTML Playlist for PC

This is the XHTML playlist program, which makes an iTunes playlist like you see here. I get a lot of emails about this one and I love to share it, so I put it on this page so that others can download the program and use it to generate a playlist.

Note: I did NOT create this program. It’s not mine. It was created and housed by the webmaster here. Unfortunately, the page with the program has been out of commission for some time. Credit for the iTunes XHTML Playlist isn’t mine.

Download: iTunes XHTML Playlist (PC) (356) - 1.58 MB

The .zip file contains both the readme.txt file and the .exe program that you run to make the playlist.

Instructions on Use

1.) The first thing you want to do is open iTunes. Then, in iTunes, go to File >> Export.

2.) A dialog box will pop up asking you to name the .txt file that will contain all of your playlist information. I always name mine playlists.txt so that I remember that the particular file is my playlist.

3.) Now, you want to go to where you have the iTunesXHTMLPlaylist.exe file. Double click on it.

4.) When the program comes up, review all of the possible selections that you can make such as layout type and what rows you want to include in your playlist (name, artist, time, genre, etc). I always turn the progress window off so that I don’t have to watch the entire thing happen. It also makes the program work faster if you turn off the program window. Once you have selected everything, press the Choose File button.

5.) A dialog box pops up, asking you to open a file. You choose the .txt file that you have previously made of your playlist. Remember, my playlist was playlists.txt, so that would be the file that I select. After that, click Open.
iTunes XHTML 4

6.) Another dialog box pops up. This one is a Save As box. I always name mine index.html because my playlist has its own folder in my domain. After you name your file, you press Save.

7.) When the program is done creating your .html file, you will be notified.

8.) All you have to do now is upload your playlist and you can show it around!
