Do you play Mafia Wars on Myspace? If you do, you know that all of the jobs are separated into level categories. By playing each job enough, you can ‘master’ that job, earn yourself the tier/level title, and then the level itself when you complete all to 100%. However, it doesn’t end there. As soon as you finish mastering a job, a blank star will come up for a total of three stars in all when you play enough. As soon as you master the level, you can fill your second stars, then your third stars. All three times you master a job, you receive a skill point.
Master once and you get the title of that tier/level be it associate, hitman, capo, etc. When you master a second time, you become “skilled” and have a 5% increase in loot drops in that level. When you master a third time, you become a “master,” have a 10% increase in loot drops in that level, and gain a bonus special item that will add something to your stats and improve upon your game play.

I was going to try it out, but I just have not gotten time to. At my old job, the guys there would talk about it and since they knew I was on MySpace tried to convince me to play. I might, but I might be bad at it because of time constraints. Would it matter?

Hey there hun.. just wanted to let you know that it’s actually a Pistol Bayonet not just a pistol. They both have special “bonuses” to them. The pistol bayonet gives you +4% damage dealt in fights. The Bugatti gives you -7% damage received in a fight.
I have masted jobs, Street Thug, Associate, Soldier, Enforcer and Hitman..
And am also a couple more jobs away from
And I have none of these…
Mikey, this is something they just started the day before. You now have the chance to master each job 3 times. Once you have master each job 3 times withing that level you well be awarded the special bonus.
Morbid, I came across this on the MW website. It gives a bit more detail on what is received from mastering each level.
Job Mastery
Prove that you’ve got what it takes to completely master each of the jobs available to you and we’ll provide you with a reward each time you complete a mastery level. Master all three levels of every job in a tier and we’ll give you something extra special.
Each time you complete a level of mastery, you’ll receive a skill point that you can spend on improving your character. Complete the next level of mastery for that job and you’ll receive another skill point, and so on. Additional rewards are provided each time you complete a level of mastery in all of the jobs of a particular tier:
Mastery 1: Tier Title
Mastery 2: “Skilled” Tier Title; +5% to loot drops in that tier
Mastery 3: “Master” Tier Title; +10% to loot drops in that tier; bonus item
If you want to find out what those special bonus items are, you had better get started on mastering those jobs! Remember though, you have to complete all of the previous tiers first before you can receive the rewards from the higher tiers. As an example, you won’t get the Associate title until you’ve completed the first level of mastery for the Street Thug jobs as well.

I finally finished this yesterday!
Essentially what I did was put every point I ever got into energy. With the addition of the new specified top mobsters, I was able to reach a point where I had enough energy to do jobs enough times to level, and get another refil. (I had about 1300 energy when it happend) Essentially I had unlimited energy. Then I would calculate how much extra points I was going to have per level, and do the lower jobs first to get the loot items I would need to do some of the boss jobs. Also, every two levels gives one godfather point, and when I got to 10, I would do only the lowest job with needed loot items, use the godfather refill, and continue on to the level, then go back to my normal rotation.
BE WARNED, the last mastery levels of almost all the boss jobs are 1% skill per job. Thus you need to do each job 100 times to finish it. (the same is true of some of the underboss jobs) Unless you have 1000+ energy, completing the boss mastery will probably take months.
i just finish the boss but it didnt ulocked the levels anyone has any idea if is any more levels u master the boss?

@Robert P.- 100 times? Oh man. I pack my energy pretty high, but I guess I need to start committing all my level up points to it now instead of 3 out of 5.
I finally mastered all levels and it would have taken me a lot longer to do if it weren’t for GF points. I did the free offers for the different credit cards and had lots of points to spend on energy. It should be a little easier now that they redid the “Top Mafia” Depending on who you select, you can gain a bonus of up to 15% on exp pts gained as well as 15% bonus on energy used. The combination of the 2 should help in making it to Master Boss.
Hi! I’ve been mastering the different levels , 100%, and have reached the 3rd tier and I’m now in the Enforcer level. I’ve noticed that I would get notifications that my mafia members have attained ‘master street thug’ before I did. Also, when I complete all tiers of a certain level, I get a message that I cannot get the ‘master’ title until I complete all LOWER jobs.
What gives? I’ve checked and redid all the lower jobs and I see 3 stars w/ 100% completion. So confused!
@Evilbunny- If you check back at all of the previous levels and you really have mastered them three times each then it’s a bug and you should probably contact Zynga to find out what is up. The first thing I would do is make sure and for certain that I really had mastered my lower tiers.
Anyone know if you get any sort of reward for mastering ALL of the job tiers? I still have a ways to go (only mastered Thug, associate, soldier, and enforcer)
@Notwell- the only reward you got for masting all levels at this point is the title “Master Boss”. Currently there are no levels after boss so not much to do besides go back and collect vault items to complete sets.
WoW, so after mastering the Boss level, it’ll unlock further !!
What’s the special level about ?? Items needed to complete those jobs beyond ‘Master Boss’ levels ?
Trysana- You need to invite more of your friends to join mafia wars. Once they do so, they should automatically be added to your mafia.
It sucks if none of your friends are interested i know, but try this:
1) find experienced mafiosos, and friend request them (try putting ‘mafia wars’ in the message box that comes with the add friend box- then they’ll knowthat you’re not some random person)
2) With any luck, they’ll accept. Add them to your mafia.
3) You can then cancel the friendship without losing them as a mafia member.
In this way, you can amass a large mafia without your number of friends ballooning with people you don’t know.

I play mafia wars..i cant understand the critical hits… most my lost fights(75%) come off critical hits ? smaller..same size mafias do it the most..any sugestions? what can i do about that.

I’m curious about this level mastery. I wonder….. Is it possible for a person to skip over the underboss level, and finish all of the boss levels in order to attain the great golden toilet, which will give double energy? Thus allowing one to finish the other levels quicker, due to more energy regeneration.
To clarify… Are there items only achievable in the underboss levels required to finish the boss level? Also, is mastery of the underboss level required to achieve mastery of the boss level?
Should a person master all 3 street level jobs before moving to Associate OR should a person do level 1 all of the way through and then level 2 all of the way through? I’m not sure what the difference is and the benefits of doing it one way or another.
