My parents did divorce when I was in college, and that really sucked, but they were great parents. My husband had a childhood very much like yours. Alcohol was the center of everything and still is for his siblings. He does choose to remember the good things though and we work very hard to be good parents to our kids. He won't repeat their mistakes. I'm glad things have turned around for you.
