All the ETC:
It has been a somewhat slow week for me. Getting everything prepared and ready for Graduate school admission has been taking up most of my time. I’ve been wound up so tight over forms and rules and last minute details that I have barely had a moment to properly relax. When I can sink down with a good book, I just feel… relieved.

I did get to finish one book this week: Breathing Out the Ghost by Kirk Curnutt, which you can read my review of here. It was an amazing read, so I feel very lucky that I had the chance to receive the book from Mr. Curnutt (I won it, yey). It is one I would have otherwise looked over and not picked up. Breathing Out the Ghost was one of those books that you pick up and can’t put down. Even more, it sinks into you.
I also got one book in the mail this week (it’s been slooooow). My mailbox is gathering cobwebs right now.

I got the Hotter Than Hell anthology from Heidi Betts, which she was also kind enough to sign for me. It also came with a doorknob hanger, some blog cards, and some great bookmarks! Definitely a package that I enjoyed opening up. I even cracked it open this morning when I woke up and read the first story! It was definitely a hot story. Glad to see you like Breathing Out the Ghost…I also recently read that one and thought it was so well done (despite the dark subject matter). Hope you had a happy Sunday of reading!
Wendys last blog post… Mailbox Monday – February 9, 2009
I think that’s awesome that you are getting ready for your graduate, even if that means you are losing focus on your personal readings and other things.
Good luck!
Johns last blog post… Oh yeah, by the way…
@John- You take the good, you take the bad… I figure I will have to give up a big portion of my life to get a Graduate Degree, but it will all pay off in the long run when I can teach University/College level history and make working part time what I would make full time + as a public school teacher.
@Wendy- I hope that you had a good Sunday, too! And Breathing Out the Ghost was an amazing book. It’s going to be one I reread and recommend to everyone.
