Starting on December 7th, St. Augustine, Florida will host their First Friday Weekend Art Walk from 5pm to 9pm. Another St. Augustine Artwalk will be scheduled on the 8th and the artwalks will continue on to the first weekend of every month. The weekend artwalks contain exhibits, music, entertainment, and refreshments at over 20 participating galleries. Artwalk tours begin at Rembrandtz Fine Gifts for Fun People, located at 131 King Street and the artwalk tours are self guided. Even better, there are also free Sightseeing Train and Trolley tours, which come around about every 15 minutes during the first Friday weekend artwalk to pick up new passengers. The first shuttle of the night begins at 6pm. It can be caught at the San Sebastian Winery.
Personally, I love art. There are very few things I would want to do with an evening above spending a few hours looking at art. It’s an amazing experience to get to view the world through another perception. I love the idea of so many galleries participating to allow a free exhibit, which proves that they understand the intent of art and not commercialization and making money. Art brings culture, after all, and people refine themselves through culture. It would be an amazing experience to get to see so much different art all in the same night.
